You may have noticed while exploring our current opportunities that our salaries are listed as a range. Here are a few key details to help simplify our generous salary structure.

  • Salary Ranges 

    • No position can be compensated below or above the advertised salary range. All new hire offers are extended at the minimum of the salary range.
     

  • Starting Salary Negotiations 

    • Whether a position is eligible for starting salary negotiation is at the discretion of hiring managers and based on the needs of the Court. This will be indicated on the job bulletin.
     

  • Salary Increases 

    • Whatever your starting salary, you can expect an annual salary increase of 5.5%, contingent upon satisfactory performance, until the salary reaches the salary range maximum.

Benefit Plans

Whichever position you hold with the Court, you are assigned a flexible benefit plan - at NO cost to you!

Employees can use their assigned benefits allowance to shop from a robust range of insurance options, including medical, dental, disability, life, and AD&D insurance.

CHOICES PLAN

Benefits may be purchased using a tax-free monthly benefits allowance between $1,149.21 and $2,476.90 for the 2025 plan year (based on number enrolled in medical coverage). If the monthly cost of the benefits selected is less than the monthly allowance, the employee receives the difference as additional taxable pay, up to a maximum of $244.00.

OPTIONS PLAN

Benefits may be purchased using a tax-free monthly benefits allowance between $1,127.65 and $2,430.50 for the 2025 plan year (based on number enrolled in medical coverage). If the monthly cost of the benefits selected is less than the monthly allowance, the employee receives the difference as additional taxable pay, up to a maximum of $244.00.

MEGAFLEX PLAN

Benefits may be purchased using a tax-free monthly benefits allowance of 14.5% or 17% (after 5 years of service) of the employee's monthly salary or $1,300.00, whichever is greater. If the monthly cost of the benefits selected is less than the monthly allowance, the employee receives the difference as additional taxable pay.

    Pension plan administered by the Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association (LACERA). Court employees do not participate in Social Security.

  • 401K Deferred Compensation Plan

    Optional tax-deferred supplemental savings plan that includes a Court match of up to 4% of your salary.

  • 457 Deferred Compensation Plan

    Optional tax-deferred supplemental savings plan that includes a Court match of up to 4% of your salary.
